Hey There! Katie Here!

Howdy! I hope you’ll bear with me as I get my feet under me. I’m brand-new to blogging, but writing is one of my strengths, so I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

All About Me

Or rather, all you need to know about me.

Second Life

I’m young and open-minded. I’m always open to new friends, new experiences, and new ideas. All I ask is that you be kind.

Wine me, dine me, sixty-nine me. Take me exploring with you. Open my mind to fresh experiences. I love to dance, the slower the better. And sometimes cuddling can be even more intimate than sex.

“God willing, may your tea be steeped in serenity, sweetened by sharing, and surrounded by the warmth of your love.”

Back To The Topic

I know Aisling has already written a lot about Life, the Universe, and Everything (as Douglas Adams put it), and I might touch on some of the same subjects myself. But since I’m a different person, my views are going to be different. Besides, you (the reader) might not have been with Aisling from the start, and thus have missed a lot of it.

Friendships in Second Life

I met someone new last night. Have you ever met someone and you knew right from the start that they were a kindred spirit? And to really understand what I mean when I say “kindred spirit,” I suggest that, if you haven’t already done so, you read the book “Anne of Green Gables.” And even if you have read it, you know it’s one of those books that never gets old.

Well, I met a kindred spirit. We are so much in tune with each other that it was almost like carrying on a conversation with myself. And we both know we’re going to be BFFs!

But if there’s one thing I’ve already learned—quite painfully, I might add—is that you need to guard your heart in SL.

Still, in this particular case and with this particular person, I’m reasonably certain we’ll neither of us hurt the other one. At least not deliberately.

Another problem I’ve experienced is the people in SL who seem to have forgotten—assuming they even realized in the first place—that every avatar, far from being a mere collection of pixels on a screen—represents a flesh-and-blood person behind that avatar. A lot of that can be attributed to the anonymity of the web in general and SL in particular:

People feel safe in mistreating or insulting others when they know that no one knows who they are. Hence,  no repercussions.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Catch you later!
