Sometimes I find myself feeling sorry for men in Second Life. And to be honest, in real life, too. You’re far too restricted in what’s acceptable for you to wear and how to look.
In the song “My Conviction,” from the musical “Hair,” a character sings this:
“I would just like to say that it is my conviction
That longer hair and other flamboyant affectations
Of appearance are nothing more
Than the male’s emergence from his drab camouflage
Into the gaudy plumage
Which is the birthright of his sex.
There is a peculiar notion that elegant plumage
And fine feathers are not proper for the male
That is the way things are
In most species.” –Galt Mac Dermot / Gerome Ragni / James Rado
Andrew is a new style for men, but to be honest, I like it as a unisexual style—it looks just as good on me as it does on the model in the picture above. And I’m sure that a few of my dyke girlfriends will like it, too!
And you’ll love the price: $L250 for all 16 colors. And as they say on television, “But wait! There’s more!”
You can get it in Sand Blonde for free at the front desk, and in Coffee for free at the voting booth.
Okay, guys: never let it be said that I con’t keep my eyes open for you!
But it can be hard to work with, which is probably why braids were invented in the first place: to keep our hair long, yet up and out of the way.
Which is why I like Leeanne, the latest offering from Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore. It’s short-looking, but the braid indicates that when it’s down, it’s much longer. It’s a perfect style for your office, whether you’re a clerk or CEO, receptionist or doctor.
As is usual, the complete set sells for $L1500, with each of the 8 color subsets going for $L250.
But you can pick up a single color—Cream Blonde—for just $L50 at the front of the store, or Flame for free, in the voting area.
What I like most about it is that I have long hair myself in RL, and I generally tie it back. And Amelia comes complete with hair clips, so I can do the same in SL. They’re colorable, too, via the included HUD:
The only way I could like it even better would be if I could change the color of the clips individually, rather than as a pair. That would reflect more accurately my hectic RL.
But never you mind! This style is destined to be part of my regular collection!
Amelia follows the usual A&A price schedule: $L1500 for the complete collection of 8 color sets, or $L250 for each of the individual sets. The HUD is included, and it has the usual low display weight.
If you’re looking for a nice feminine style with several display options, you can’t go wrong with Amelia, from the Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore.
