OMG! I’m Getting OLD!!!

In a lot of ways I try to keep my Second Life persona as close to my real-life self as possible. The other day I went to the eye doctor for my annual diabetes eye exam, and the results showed that I needed glasses! Not having the best insurance in the world (who does?), I chose a simple, plain pair.

Glasses

Nothing fancy, as you can see.

But they do take some getting used to.

I keep setting them down and forgetting where I put them. And if you’re a glasses wearer you know the frustration of setting down your glasses, forgetting where you left them, then being unable to find them again because you need the damn things to see!

Now I know what my daddy used to go through when he’d take off his glasses and put them on top of his head (so he’d know where they were) and ten minutes later he’d be asking my mother, “Nancy, have you seen my glasses?”

Is this what Roger Daltrey had in mind when he sang, “Hope I die before I get old”?

Glasses 2

Oh, well. I guess it’s time to see if Dorothy Parker knew what she was talking about when she wrote, “Men don’t make passes / At girls who wear glasses.”

We’ll see how it goes!

Ariel: Not A Mermaid But A New Style

Another offering this week from Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore is Ariel.

A&A Ariel Hair All Colors-pic

Lush curls and swirls will make you the envy of all the other women at the gala!

It’s available in every color you see here for L$1200—or L$600 if you’re wearing your Alli&Ali group tag at the time of purchase.

Individual sets of 24 shades sell for L$250 each, or L$125 when you wear your group tag. And as of this writing, you can grab it in Sliver Blonde for L$50 from the specials board, or even free in Mixed Brown at the front desk!

Bella: Something Extra

Bella just might be my new favorite. Yes, I know I say that all the time, but it’s true: just when I think I’ve found the perfect style, the geniuses at Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore come up with something entirely new and I fall in love all over again.

This week it’s Bella.

A&A Bella Hair All Colors-pic

The complete collection sells for L$1200, but as usual, if you wear your Alli&Ali group tag, it’s yours for only L$600. Individual sets of 24 colors—again, if you’re wearing your group tag—are $125.

Bella is an elegant style that makes me want to put on my finery and find a date for the theater and dinner afterwards. And by “theater,” I mean a play or the opera—and I don’t even like opera!

But as they love to say on television, “But wait! There’s more”

Bella 4

There’s a barrette that holds the braid in place in the back, and you have your choice of colors. And by choosing “invisible,” you can even hide it away from sight. That’s the “extra” in the headline.

And that, dear ones, is this week’s offering from the Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore.

A New Style for the New Year!

It’s called Bussom, and it’s available now from the Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore.

A&A Bussom Hair All Colors-pic

The usual selling price is L$1200, but you’ll find it on the Action Wall, which means that if you’re wearing your A&A Group tag, it’s yours for only L$600! Individual color packs have the same discount: normally L$250, but only L$125 with your tag active.

As always, I’m modelling it in red:

In addition, you can customize the ski cap to any one of 9 different colors. Or as they say on television, “BUT WAIT! That’s Not All!”

Bussom 4
Wearing the hair without the ski cap.

If you prefer, you don’t need to wear the ski cap at all! So really, you’re getting even more of a deal: wear the cap in the winter, and take it off when the weather gets warm.

There’s still more! You can get it in Red Moon for free as a voting gift. Or buy it in Mixed Blonde of L$50 on the Sale wall. Finally, you can also get it free in Blonde Blue at the front desk.

So that’s Bussom, a great way to start off the new year at the Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore!

Our Classic New Year Fun is Back!

Surprisesale 2020 poster

There’s a new surprise hair sale in the Alli&Ali Designs Mainstore! There are 24 boxes of hair, and each holds 3 different hairstyles in 3 exclusive colors. 6 boxes are for men, and 18 for are for women.

You don’t have to be a maths genius to figure out that comes to a grand total of 72 different styles—which if listed here in all their details would probably put you to sleep. But here’s the thing: at only $L50 a box, why not take a chance? You already know that A&A makes the best hair in SL, so you’re not really risking anything.

I can guarantee that this is a sale like no other, and it only comes once a year, so don’t miss your chance!

But you’d better hurry, as the sale only lasts through the end of January!

The Holidays Are Here! And That Means Relay For Life

This year we’re celebrating the 9th Annual SL Christmas Expo, and as always, all proceeds are being donated to the American Cancer Society for use in the fight against childhood cancer.

Alli&Ali is right there with their special offer, Shiki.

A&A Shiki Hair All Colors-pic
Shiki: All Colors Display

It’s an elegant new style, admirably suited for wearing to any one of a number for RFL (Relay For Life) events going on now in SL.

But there’s a catch: it’s only available at the Expo, from December 5th through the 15th. And there are no discounts since 100% of the sales are being donated to RLF.

To find it, go to the 9th Annual SL Christmas Expo’s home page. Once there, click on SHOP THE EXPO and then Shopping Directory:

Shiki Menu
Where to go

That will bring up links to all the vendors in the Expo. Scroll down until you see Alli&Ali Designs, then click on the link to the right of it. This will take you to the shop, where you can buy Shiki, either in the full set of 256 colors for L$1200, or individual sets of 32 for L$250.

Even if you’re not interested in Shiki, go to the store anyway: there are several other styles and items available and, like Shiki, all proceeds from your purchases go to the RFL and subsequently to the American Cancer Society.

And my personal wish is for you, dear reader, to have a safe and happy holiday season, regardless of your belief system. And if you don’t celebrate the holidays, have a safe and happy season ayway!
